With only 27 days left in the school year, it is time to display the word cloud banner with names of all our 8th grade students. Each year I see groups of students gathered around determined to find their name. I hear our students in 6th and 7th grade talking about how much they will miss these 8th graders. Teachers give hugs to students who will be leaving us and help to reminisce about the good times here at WJMS. We are proud of your accomplishments and we celebrate your advancement to a new chapter in your lives. Congratulations WJMS class of 2016….you will be missed!classof2016

2014Sometimes it’s the little things that make a difference in the life of a child. This past week, we placed the word cloud banner with names of all the 8th graders on the wall outside the media center. Each year I see groups of students gathered around determined to find their name. I hear our students in 6th and 7th grade talking about how much they will miss them. Teachers give hugs to students who will be leaving us. But a visit from one of our football players helped me realize just how important our yearly endeavour is to these kids. He made a point to stop in the media center to tell us couldn’t find his name on this wall! The student didn’t act like he was upset; but for a big, tough, football player to make a special stop in the library to tell us, it WAS a big deal. Thank goodness we were able to find his name on the wall when we went to look. If we hadn’t been able to find it, a new banner would definitely have been made. Congratulations to the WJMS class of 2014! You will be missed.
