The Scholastic Book Fair is scheduled for Monday, February 27 through Tuesday, March 6th in the media center. In honor of our Read Across America celebration, we are featuring an afternoon for parents on Friday, March 2nd until 4:30. As parents arrive at the end of the school day to pick their children, they are invited to join us in the media center to browse through the fair selections. If parents are unable to join us, online book fair shopping is available through Scholastic at our WJMS Book Fair Homepage.

Promotions:

We will have a “Bonus Buck” drawing for every class that visits the book fair.  The student in the winning seat will win a free dollar to spend in the book fair.

Each student visiting the book fair will be given a slip of paper to put their name on to enter in a drawing for one of the 20 posters in the book fair.  For every $1 they spend, students will receive an additional slip of paper for another chance to win a poster.

We held a Book Fair at Books-a-Million back in October to raise money for library books. A portion of the day’s sales was given to the media center and I went in this week to purchase books with the money. I bought 75 new books including several Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys mysteries and many paperbacks for the Accelerated Reader Point Club. I am hoping to have these out on the shelves soon. Thanks so much to parents, faculty, and the Teacher’s Pets group for their generous support.
