The kids(and the adults too) have enjoyed figuring out our latest contest on the bulletin board outside the media center. There are twelve book titles for the contest written using emojis only! Can you figure out all of them?

Candy Heart Contest (1)

Joshua(a 6th grader) won our contest with a guess of 490 hearts. There were 480 candy hearts in the jar.

Victoria was our winner with her awesome 3D snowflake! She was able to take home the peppermint hot cocoa mix.

rileyHuge thanks to all the participants in the Candy Corn Contest. Riley V. won with her guess of 643 candy corn and she was able to take home the entire jar! The total number of candy in the jar was 631.  Thank you Riley, for being a great sport for the photo! 🙂 Pumpkin Contest (1)

dee_graphicSo many of our students love graphic novels and are also wonderful artists. I decided to have a contest that would incorporate the two interests. I placed all of our graphic novels on display along with a poster introducing our contest. Students will need to submit artwork inspired by the graphic novels they read. The prize in the contest is a selection of graphic novels. So far I have had tons of students asking for more details. With the contest ending at the end of September, I can’t wait to see all the finished artwork!
