We celebrated Teen Tech Week in the library March 10th through 16th and featured a Technology Museum this year. The students enjoyed viewing the “ancient” technology and asked some great questions about the displays. Featured were 35mm film cameras from 1976, a slide projector from the 60s, an 8-track tape player from the 60s, an 8 mm projector from the 60s, a Word Processor from the early 90s, and a reel to reel Tapecorder from the 60s. The displays featured QR codes which explained each item in greater detail. Students asked media center staff for one of the tablet PCs to scan the codes when they visited. In addition, QR codes on Web 2.0 tools and Book Trailers were displayed in the stacks too. In addition to the Tech Museum, we created some floppy disk art that the kids thought was pretty cool.
