All students have completed media center orientation and it went very well. Language Arts classes watched an eleven minute video I produced on the policies and procedures we have in place to be able to use our library effectively. I talked to students about the Accelerated Reader program and the new incentives we have this year. I explained to students about our new Book Exchange that I have implemented this year. Students are encouraged to bring in old paperbacks for the book exchange. They may also borrow from those in the book exchange without having to check them out. I showed students how to use my blog and they were able to browse the site. After my discussion with each group, students were able to take the STAR reading test to find out their current reading level. At the end of the period, students were able to browse the shelves to check out books.
